Aradel Holdings Plc held its annual Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Week, across all its locations from the 9th – 12th of July 2024.

HSE Week, now in its 7th edition, is a permanent fixture in Aradel’s corporate calendar and acknowledges HSE’s critical role as a core and foundational pillar across the businesses of Aradel Holdings Plc and its subsidiaries. Safety culture at Aradel is embedded in its people, processes, operations and its robust HSE Policies.

Aradel views the health and safety of its people, contractors and community members as a critical priority and is committed to creating a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment through the company’s policies, in alignment with the company’s Core values and vision statement. After a staff-wide competition, the winning theme that emerged for the 2024 Safety Week was “safety rules are your best tools”, and “never give safety a day off!”. This theme reflects the importance of strict and continuous adherence to best practices and safety standards across all areas of the business.

Demonstrating the importance of safety at Aradel, during HSE Week, all staff stopped work and focused on the HSE Week Programme, which included HSE talks from external experts, interactive learning seminars, safety quizzes, practical demonstrations and awards. Staff participated in exercises that highlighted the role of personal accountability, the importance of escalating safety concerns and reporting near misses, and most importantly, the fact that each and every employee is empowered to stop work if any safety risks are perceived. Additionally, staff from each location were asked to suggest safety rules for Aradel Holdings Plc, which will be streamlined and cataloged by Aradel’s excellent group of graduate trainees for implementation companywide.

In his address to staff, Aradel Chief Executive Officer/MD, Mr. Adegbite Falade, said, ‘In all we do at Aradel, let us always proceed at the speed of safety. As a top quartile HSE performing enterprise, safety underpins everything that we do as a company. All staff have a personal responsibility to address what is not right and to adhere to standardized procedures and safety rules. Safety is paramount and is the first and best trophy that we can win.’
